Why Narrative
the answer we wish we’d had

Four years and $100k is a brutal way to learn it was the wrong path.

Our founder got lucky. Narrative exists so your kid doesn't have to. We see your kid’s potential, not just their resume, and won’t leave until they win.

Our philosophy

We believe in your kid’s potential — not just their resume.

Most programs start with what’s wrong: the gap on the resume, the major they regret, the interview they bombed. We start with what’s already there.

Every kid has a story, a strength, a spark they’ve never been taught to see. Our job isn’t to fix your kid — it’s to show them who they already are, and hand them the confidence and the system to prove it. That’s how a teenager who shrugs “I don’t know” becomes one who walks into a room and owns it.

A storyThe experiences that shaped them — waiting to be told the right way.
A strengthWhat they’re naturally good at — often the thing they can’t see in themselves.
A sparkThe thing that lights them up the moment they start talking about it.

We don’t add any of it. We find what’s already there — and make it impossible to ignore.

How we coach

We meet your kid where they are.

Not where a syllabus says they should be. Coaching is built on trust, real talk, and a genuine belief that your kid has what it takes.

One-on-one, every week, a coach who has actually been in the room — making the cold calls, bombing the interviews, figuring it out — sits down with your kid, creates a space where they can be honest, and walks beside them the whole way.

“I have no idea what I want.”
“I got the offer.”
What makes it different

This isn’t a class. It’s a coach in their corner.

A counselor manages hundreds of kids. A course hands out worksheets. Narrative is a relationship — one coach, your kid, and a real outcome.

Meet your coach

I built this because I know what it costs to have the wrong plan.

Chris Ford spent four years in college chasing a career he never entered. What happened next — and what he learned in a hospital pharmacy basement — is why Narrative exists.

Why families choose us

Real people. Real experience. Real skin in the game.

You get the founder, not a hand-off.

Every kid works directly with Chris — the person who built the method — not a junior coach, a script, or a chatbot. When you invest in Narrative, you get the one who lived it.

We’ve actually done this.

This isn’t theory from a textbook. It’s the exact framework that drove $28M+ in real-world outcomes — taught by someone who made the cold calls, bombed the interviews, and figured it out.

Potential-focused, not problem-focused.

We don’t dwell on what’s wrong with your kid’s resume. We build from what’s already strong — and they feel the difference in the very first session.

For the first time, my son had someone in his corner who actually believed in him. He came in unsure of everything and walked out with a job offer — and a completely different way of carrying himself.

§The Narrative guarantee

We believe in your kid enough to put our fee on the line.

This is how much we mean it: a job offer within 12 months, or we keep coaching for free until there is one. Your kid pays their half from their first paycheck — never before. No offer, and we never collect it. We don't get paid in full until your kid wins. That's not a sales tactic. It's belief, in writing.

Plain terms, no asterisks — exactly what it covers and what it asks.
Picture this

Imagine where your kid is a year from now.

They wake up with a direction they actually chose — not one they settled for. They can tell you exactly who they are and what they want, in a sentence, without flinching. There’s a real offer in hand, or one only days away. They carry themselves differently. And for the first time in a long time, the worry you’ve been quietly carrying finally lifts.

That’s not too good to be true. It’s the outcome we build toward — every session, every message sent, every interview rehearsed — and it’s the one we put our fee behind.
