Earlier than you think. Most families wait until senior year of high school, which leaves almost no runway to course-correct if the original plan falls apart.

The families who see the best outcomes start the positioning conversation at 16 — not because they're forcing a decision, but because they're building the skill set early. Story, self-awareness, and clarity don't develop overnight. The earlier you start, the more competitive your kid is when it actually counts.

No — and honestly, it's often an advantage. Kids who haven't locked into a path yet are easier to position than kids who've been told for years they're going to be one specific thing and are afraid to question it.

The Career Track starts with story, not role or industry. By the end of Week 1, your kid will have more clarity about who they are professionally than most adults twice their age.

Less than you might think. The program is coach-led — your kid works directly with their coach on outreach, interviews, and deliverables, so you don't have to manage the process or do the nagging yourself.

The most helpful thing you can do is get them started and then give them room. Your coach handles the week-to-week accountability. In our experience, the kids whose parents step back tend to take ownership the fastest.

That's usually a signal, not a character flaw. Most young people aren't unmotivated — they're directionless. When there's no clear path forward, energy defaults to whatever feels easiest.

The program creates traction, and traction creates motivation. When the first outreach message gets a real reply, when a coach tells them their story actually lands — that's when the shift happens. We build the system. The motivation follows.

College counselors help kids get into school. Career centers help college students find internships. Neither is designed to help a 16–21-year-old build a real offer, get in front of real people, and close a real outcome.

Narrative is built around one thing: the outcome. Every week has a deliverable. Every deliverable moves your kid toward a job offer or a paying client. And if they complete the program and don't get there, we keep coaching for free until they do — and we don't collect the second half of our fee until they win.
